Annual report of the gipsy ministry from Aiud - Romania

My dear friends and co-labors,
Greetings!
Please take a moment to read our briefly ministry report for the last year ,and find out how God worked among us in 2008, and also find out what is our plans for this year!
We praise the Lord for the incredible year of 2008, which could be characterized as a year of blessing and prosperity upon us and our mission! 2009 seems to be an auster year, many people lost all ready their jobs, others are feel insecure, in our country , I'm sure it is the same in your country too especially USA. In this context, our prayer is to receive a double blessing upon us in this year, to be able to be 2 times more a blessing for the people we work with, as well as the people we get in contact!! In this times, probable many of us will be used by God to feed a family which cannot afford the 'daily bread', to provide for the poor, or to encourage and comfort the once who suffer... It is easy to give when we have abundantly, but God will appreciate more when we give the same (or even more) when we have less!!! May God help us all to be a blessing for others in 2009!!!

Evaluation of the ministry involvement from the spiritual /social perspectives
Our main objective of last year was to continue to communicate the gospel of Christ in our personal/public meetings, churches services, and sometime official meetings with the public authorities. God open a door for us to be able to represent our precious gipsies to all the levels in our county. In this way we have become a link between the roma community and the public authorities. An example in this way it is the roma community from Plopilor. They live in such a condition that for many of us it is unimaginable ...Sometime a dog house can be better than their home!!! We were able to motivate the public authorities to look for a solution to improve their living condition. Now, there's a project on going in Aiud for 30 houses, which seems to be done by the end of this summer. So, 30 families will become beneficiary of this project. Another example it is the rats problem from the same community. A child nose was bite, and some were bite on their legs while they were sleeping...It was a terrible situation there especially for small baby’s. We were trying everything we could to help them in that situation but what we did it was not enough... The rats were too many and too big. Sometime the poison/petrol, etc has no effect on them... We went to the health service and explain the situation and the danger for the community. We also let them know that if a child die, they may be responsible because they did not act, and if the press finds out their image may be affected!
The chief inspector called the Sanitary Department and order in less than 24 h to be made a general
hygiene in the community and so it happened. It seems like this problem has been solved and the kids and people are having one less worry now about their body while they are sleeping...:)

Discipleship program has been continued as well with the gipsy leaders from the communities.
They are day by day more mature and it is a pleasure for us anytime we see them...

We made home visit and established new contacts. That seems to be an effective ministry. Rusu Elisabeta a single mother with a lot of problems has been accepting Christ after we shared with her. We prayed for her to find a job ,to be able to provide for her family and God listen our prayers... She is working now and the Lord is working to her heart too...

Last year we had our annual meeting for Christmas hold at the Culture Hall. We had a large number of kids coming and also a big number of adults. The mayor and some other officials were there and show their sympathy with us. There was a wonderful message shared about the: True meaning of Christmas, and we hope the people who were there were touched.
On Christmas Day we have 60 people from our ministry visiting us at our home in Unirea... It was so nice to be together that we forgot about time, only by the morning we have been decided that it may be the time to say good-bye...!!!You know the joke with the guests...It is nice at the beginning, but then... :)
Financially situation
We thank God and to all of you who is part of our work by sustain us financially. Equally we thanks to each one of you who support us by your prayers and encouragements. God bless us very much last year through your generosity, and by a good management we could fulfill our ministry/personnel needs!
We have been thinking to a development plan for a funding system that the team members develop their own family business so that they could be self supported. That would include a business for profit so that the team members create a legal sustainable source of income for fulfilling the family needs and providing for the ministry. The best example in this case it is apostil Paul with the tent making model which was able to support himself and the mission work. We have great resources which we need to use: our mind / our hands and our healthy body’s. The ministry will be not affected as we will invest as much time as we want to, and we can stop whenever we want .Priority will remain the ministry. We are working now to present a business plan which includes the necessary research and market studies as well as other information.
We have been multiplied...
My dear friends I have to let you know that our family and ministry will get bigger this year with one more person! A person which will be coming on this life and breath for the first time by the end of April! Please pray that Mary will give easily birth and our new little missionary will enjoy the life outside the belly! We live a nice experience and looking forward to see the big wonder and the gift of God for us!
Plans for the 2009 - We want to see a building for the church this year, where we could hold our spiritual/social services.
God blessed us so far with most of the funds, but there's still need of more...
- We want to start the Sunday morning services and officiate a baptism this year
- Developed a funding system to be able to be self supported in a 1-2 years from now.
- Continue the church development, the work with the kids/young/and adults, and discipleship program
- Continue to be a link between roma people and public authorities
- We hope to find a person with a passion and love for the gipsies to work with us in the future

For all this to happen we need your prayers, we need your help and we need your wisdom!!!
And may the Lord find us faithful in all what we do for His glory and for His Holly Name! Amen!
Lot of love and many blessings from the Gipsy Mission Team in Aiud- Romania!
